ATD Level 2  focus is to prepare students as paraprofessionals who have a wide array of skills and knowledge in pursuing a business career. Accounting is a vital part of every business. The aims of an accounting course examined by KASNEB include to:

  1. Produce qualified accountants or account technicians
  2. Impart professional values and ethics, communication skills, creativity, innovation and ability to generate ideas.
  3. Provide a basis for the application of advanced knowledge in accounting.


A person seeking to be registered as a student for ATD examination must show evidence of being a holder of the following qualifications:

  1. KCSE with an aggregate average of at least grade C-
  2. A KASNEB technician/ Diploma
  3. Such other certificates as may be approved by KASNEB


Exams are set externally and conducted by KASNEB. However a student is required to sit for all internal CATS and Mocks as per the College examinations regulations
